Я совершенно не удивлюсь, если вдруг окажется, что арабы позаимствовали эти традиции у иранцев. Они вообще много чего у иранцев позаимствовали: 1000 и 1 ночь (значительную ее часть); по одной весьма правдоподобной версии, даже буквы.
